Olympic Handball County Finals
On Tuesday last our U11 boys and girls Olympic handball teams travelled to Gormanston for the County Finals. Having already qualified through the regional rounds, our boys and girls took to the court with great confidence.
Our boys had two great wins in the round robin stage before being beaten by St. Colmcilles. However, they had done enough to qualify for the final against the same opposition. The boys found themselves 4-1 in arrears at one stage before battling back bravely. They just lost out 4-3 but left the court after showing great heart, teamwork and resilience. Well done to St. Colmcilles.
Our girls team made it three wins out of three in the round robin phase of their tournament and qualified for the final where they faced a teak-tough Carnaross team for the second time. After a closely fought game, our girls emerged as county champions. They now go through to the Leinster finals. Congratulations girls!
